Eddie Orrell is the MLA for Cape Breton North. In the past he was worked as a physiotherapist and has been recognized as a community leader. He has worked with the Cape Breton District Health Authority for 24 years and has promoted healthy lifestyles through his private practice.

Eddie is a well-known leader in the community through his many years of service with the hospital foundation, minor sports, the Kinsmen Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters and the United Way.

Eddie Orrell is guided by the values of hard work, community service and caring for your neighbours. He inherited his work ethic and commitment to community service from his parents, John and Virginia Orrell.  His mother worked as a nurse and his father worked for the municipal government and also ran a metal and woodworking business. Today, Eddie's family - wife Jane and children Bhreagh and Bryden - stand alongside him in seeking to strengthen his community for the next generation.
